Trick or Treat Exchange letter
Thursday, 17 September 2026 07:45Hey, here goes, I haven't done one of these in forever and I'm very excited. I love art, I love fic.
Number one fandom:
Currently, I'm obsessed with Clue (1985), and when I say obsessed, I mean I watched this movie NIGHTLY a couple of months back while going through some stuff, and for the first time in a lifetime of sometimes rewatching this movie, I had a ship I was all in on, with Professor Plum/Miss Scarlet. It's about the homophrosyne-- yes, they do have the fake-out make out (and after he hits on her pretty aggressively while she runs very hot and cold with him in a way that tickles me), but the thing that sold me was that they both have the same idea at the same time about getting the doors on opposite sides of the hall closed. And they have the same sense of humor.
Some of the kinds of things I'd love to see:
If you are of a smutty bent, I'm a big fan of these two in a D/s relationship where she's the dominant partner. If you're more interested in tricks than treats, feel free to lean into the horror of being trapped in a big spooky mansion while bodies drop around you. I'm generally a fan of outsider POV on a relationship, in this case one rapidly and perhaps inexplicably developing in front of everyone. I'm into two people trying to get a read on each other and conflicted over developing feelings. And, of course, I love a side of humor with anything from smut to horror, but it's not necessary to my enjoyment.
I'm okay with including any and all of the other characters, I'm very happy to see either Mr. Green/Wadsworth or Wadsworth/Mrs. White as a side ship to Plum/Scarlet.
What I DON'T want:
I don't want an unhappy ending, no rape (but canon levels of sex pest-hood don't need to be shied away from, he did all that etc). No Ending A-- either neither of them is the murderer or both of them are. In terms of injury to the two of them, a little is great but I don't want gnarly gore. No scat. Aside from that I think I'm down with everything!
Number two fandom:
The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. When I read it it shot to the top of my list of favorite horror novels and I was struck by how much more than just horrifying it was, how BEAUTIFUL it was. I read a library copy for the first time in May and in the October of that same year I had bought my own copy and read the book again. The film is also fantastic-- if you're familiar with the film rather than the book that's totally fine, because it's very faithful.
Wants: For a treat, anything with Joe taking care of Damien-- either as he runs himself ragged in the lead-up to getting permission to perform the exorcism, or in the aftermath of Damien somehow not dying. for a trick, Joe getting involved in the exorcism plot and being present for and witnessing more of the horror-- and either Joe or Damien being the one to be temporarily possessed on saving Regan. Joe and Damien leaving the priesthood together-- or deciding not to.
DNW: Unless it's a bonus trick, no major character death (if it is a bonus trick and you want to lay the angst on me, go for it). No non-con unless the aggressor is possessed as it happens (in which case, again, lay the angst on me). No scat.
Number three fandom:
St. Elsewhere my beloved.
Wants: You can put these two in the most outlandish horrible situations or you can let them just have soft moments together, honestly, it's ALL good. I love Victor helping parent Jack's son, I love their playing with kink (Victor canonically has been in the dominant role but also had submissive dreams), I love their healing together from all the trauma they've been through and I love their going through more. I love outsider POV and I love Victor's neverending quest for Mark Craig's approval and I'd love their having to be out to any select hospital staff in the wake of some traumatic event-- Victor not being able to operate on Jack and having to explain why, or just being found out. I mean there's a lot of ground with them.
DNW: No non-con between them. No scat. No major character death.
Number four fandom:
Numbers. Rewatching the show with my mom off and on lately has me remembering how much I loved Charlie and Larry's dynamic (and how much I shipped them), but also how much I loved Larry's dynamic with the whole Eppes family.
Wants: As always, I love an outsider POV on a ship-- in this case, Alan and/or Don and how they perceive (or fail to perceive) Charlie and Larry's relationship. Hurt/comfort with one of the guys being hurt. Larry's place within the family dynamics, whether acknowledged as Charlie's partner or not. If this is a trick, feel free to visit heavy trauma and scares on them!
DNW: The usual non-con-between-the-ship, major character death, and scat trio, and considering the length of their association, no underage but also no beginning the relationship while the two were more mentor/mentee than colleagues and equals.
Number five fandom:
Taxi, one of my absolute favorite old sitcoms, and one that could always use more fic. One of those shows where I do love the whole ensemble-- though admittedly Jim is by FAR my favorite.
Wants: Anything revolving around Jim's canon psychic powers (his success rate may not be a hundred percent outside of the realm of being able to predict TV hits, but hey, nobody's perfect), anything involving either of the ships being set up by any of the rest of the group or, again, my beloved outsider POV. Tony's relationship with his own bisexuality being impacted by the fact that his two best friends in 'Nam ended up as in a committed relationship, and his not having been able to face the fact that this didn't make him uncomfortable because they were two men, it made him feel left out/unwanted. Jim from his position as comfortably not-exclusively-heterosexual (whatever he IS, he is not EXCLUSIVELY heterosexual, or at least he views a man not wanting to kiss another man as a 'hang up') being able to offer any kind of solidarity, if not any *useful* advice, to Tony and/or Bobby in coming to grips with being not-exclusively-heterosexual.
DNWs: The usual no scat/no non-con between the shipped characters (or main cast)/no major character death applies.
Number six fandom:
M*A*S*H. I'm a Hawkeye/Trapper fan. I think they DO have a genuine deep and loving bond even though the early seasons leaned more into the laughs and delved less into the pathos. I figured I really had to include a COUPLE fandoms that weren't too niche and I saw I wouldn't be the only MASH fan in town-- it's one of those shows I periodically get VERY heavily into, but there's never a bad time for it!
Wants: Outsider POV-- and you can throw in any other characters who were there to see the two of them together, or the perspective of your favorite patient, I just tagged Radar and Klinger because they're my other favorites. Shore leave together, or angst, or shenanigans, I'm flexible here. Them finding each other again after the war is also always good. I love Hawkeye being the most bisexual man in the world and his strong desire to have a man get him pregnant (he jokes about it way too often for it not to mean something), I love Trapper as a gay man so closeted he doesn't even know it himself.
DNWs: Honestly, just the non-con/MCD/scat trifecta, I think anything else goes with these two.
